Monday April 5 1943 "South Sea Islands"Dearest Folks
Must write you a few lines to let you know everything is well with me. I didn't get any more letters from you since I wrote sending the request for the package, however I did get 2 letters from Virginia 1 from Betty and 1 from Aunt Rinnie. I never got a chance to write yesterday (Sunday) as I was on guard all day then to top it all off I was on KP today, most generally we complain when something like that happens but we have learned to expect anything here.
I just got through taking a bath one of them possible kind thats the only kind we can take I try and keep as clean as I can a person can get sick easy here if you aren't careful. However I sure have felt good so far, except for the heat it isn't so bad.
Virginia seems to like her new shoppe all right. She says she gets lonesome but she don't know what it is to be lonesome or homesick.
They say you can send us packages now that don't weigh over 8 oz, Say mother if you want to do something for me you can send me the Ranch Romance it comes 2 times a month we don't get much to read and I sure do get lots of enjoyment out of reading. Well folks guess this will be all this time hope you are all well and happy. Don't worry about me.
