Wesley to Folks, 07/22/1942

PFC Wesley R Slaymaker Co M 129 Inf 33 Div APO Camp Forrest Tenn July 22, 1942

Dear folks It's noon and I'm going to write you a few lines while I have a minute or two. I've got to go to camp tonight and get my laundry and mail which will come in there. I never went last night so didn't get any.

We didn't do much this morning studied the compass, it rained some but never got wet.

The boys in this company are lots more friendly and most of them from the north although I don't know them very well I think I'm going to like them fine.

They looked at my teeth again today and said they never saw a better set. I brush them every day.

I haven't mailed that package yet so will probably do it tonight. I haven't written to Virginia for a couple of days. If y ou see anyone that wants to write tell them my new address.

I'm going to go back to the barracks I stayed in tonight and take a good shower and shave in warm water.

Delbert Baum is in Camp Banning Florida in the hospital. He hurt his leg some way. He's a jeep driver too.

There isn't any news as to when we leave this place yet. They won't tell us until we're on ow way where we are going either.

Well folks must quit for now. Will add a line or two tonight.

There isn't any more news. I got a swell letter from you today and talked to Roy Grof. He said he had a nice talk with you.

Good night Love Wesley
