Dear Folks

I received a letter from you yesterday but didnít get around to answering last night as had to go to school. Itís about 15 minutes after 11 in the forenoon now. I just got off school so will make an attempt to write you a letter in case something turns up I have to go to school tonight.

All the boys are out on another hike so thereís just 2 or three guys here for dinner. We can have about anything they have to eat, which isnít much. They are beginning to ration us on sugar and other things too.

Iím sitting down on the floor by my locker. Itís pretty nice and cool after being out in the sun.

We are moving out of our barracks into tents the first of next week. Another bunch of boys leave tonight so itís our turn to go as soon as they are back. I had a nice long letter from Aunt Francis yesterday, also from Lois.

I see by the Graphic where Virginia is working at Petersonís thatís the first news Iíve heard to the effect. Probably get a letter from you at mail call in about half an hour.

Everything is easy at school. We have to know quite a little about first aid also. In fact when we are through we should be jacks of all trades. I havenít drove yet but probably get a chance this afternoon or tomorrow.

Well folks guess I better wash up a little for dinner and go get it. Seems kind of funny writing in the middle of the day, especially a week day. Yesterday was pay day. I got $18.84. Iíll write some more tonight if I hear from you and will be seeing you soon.

Wesley P.S. got a letter from you. Nothing more exciting has happened so guess thatís all.

Love Wesley
