Dear Folks

I’ll bet you thought I had forgot you too. I got your letter and the money today. Wish I could spend it and come home right away but don’t think will come until week after next or around the first. I maybe wouldn’t have needed the money if I don’t get to come until after the first but can use it after I get home I suppose, if not I’ll pay it back when I come home.

I’ve got to go on guard tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow morning is inspection day again so am pretty busy getting things lined up.

I got another letter from you today and on from Virginia, sure sorry to hear you was under the weather and dad I kinda know how the piles are. I had them week before last but didn’t want to write it home for fear you would worry. But am all over them now. I never missed a day tho but felt like it.

And this guard business I don’t want to brag but I was one of the first 4 picked for it. Hope I make it ok.

There is a big bunch leaving tomorrow on their furloughs that will be back the 25th then another bunch will go then, so don’t know but what maybe will come then but don’t look for me until you see me coming.

I got another letter from Stub today talks like he is really enjoying himself.

Well folks I don’t know any news except that we have been doing lots of marching lately, put on another parade today. Guess it was ok they didn’t say as yet. I hope you don’t have any trouble getting the oats in and that you have good luck with your turkeys. So long and will be seeing you soon I hope.

Lots of Love

Wesley
