Wesley to Folks, 08/31/1942

Camp Stoneman California August 31, 1942

Dear Folks

I have a chance to send some money home today so am going to thought I would scratch you a line or two to tell you I am fine and hope all of you are too. I can't tell you any news cause there isn't any.

Got some letters from you today that were sent to Camp Forrest and also the one Jean and you wrote while helping Fern (?) cook for thrashers.

How much grain did you have? Be sure and tell me everything.

That about all the news I know don't worry I'm fine.

Lots of Love

P.S. I'm sending $100 if you need it use it if not buy me some calves.

Dear Folks

I wrote the other side last night but never got a chance to mail it or send the money but guess I will today.

Everything is fine. The wind is blowing hard today, and its pretty cool cool enough so you have to wear a field jacket.

Everybody is pretty busy this morning but not doing much. If you don't hear from me for a while don't worry. I don't suppose I'll get any more mail after today.

Say Mother and everybody we got our pictures taken the whole company. They are sending mine to Betty. The company is doing it for a present to us. I won't get to see it but I know it won't be good of me. Course I had to look right into the sun. She will show it to you then when I come home I can tell you who everybody.

I still don't know if I'm going to get a chance to get a money order to send that money home, but think I will.

This is the last letter you will get from me until I land some place I just found out. So don't worry please I'm sure that I'll be fine and will be home sometime in the near future.

I never got a chance to write to Aunt Mattie, Aunt Ruth, or Aunt Rinnie, Stub or Lloyd, so you can write and tell them the circumstances and I'll write to them the first chance I get if I can.

Well Mother and Everybody good-by and I want to write Betty a note yet so I better quit and get at it there isn't much time left.

Lots of Love
